Skids stems from a derogatory word used to address low-level hackers who rely on scripts to do the hacking for them, hence the term Script Kiddies (Skids). It's what every wannabe hacker imagines hacking to be like.
Talking to anonymous, smashing your keyboard into a terminal, hacking and downloading the "mainframe" and so on. Skids aims to make you, the viewer, feel like a seasoned hacking veteran without any of the actual hacking.
